At Upper Iowa Beef, we carefully handle every cut for your peace of mind. We provide this information to assure our customers that our food safety and quality programs meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and support the production and distribution of wholesome, high quality meat products.
Upper Iowa Beef (Est. 45321) operates as a USDA-inspected facility, with on-site oversight from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) throughout daily operations. From arrival through harvest and processing, plant personnel work under continuous USDA supervision to ensure strict compliance with federal food safety regulations. Every animal receives both an ante-mortem inspection prior to harvest and a post-mortem inspection during processing, conducted by FSIS inspectors to verify wholesomeness and confirm the absence of disease.
This Letter of Guarantee affirms that all products processed and shipped by Upper Iowa Beef, LLC Est. #45321 meet all applicable federal and state food safety and labeling regulations at the time of delivery. It outlines our commitment to providing products that are not adulterated or misbranded and that comply with governing laws, while also clarifying the conditions and limitations under which this guarantee applies.
Upper Iowa Beef maintains a comprehensive food safety and quality assurance program in full compliance with all applicable federal regulations. As a federally inspected establishment under USDA FSIS oversight, we operate under validated HACCP plans, sanitation standards, and regulatory directives designed to identify, control, and prevent potential food safety hazards throughout the production process.Our HACCP plan is validated and formally reassessed each year to ensure it remains effective, current, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
Upper Iowa Beef maintains a comprehensive allergen control program and does not use ingredients classified as major food allergens under the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). Additionally, no allergens are present on the production floors where our products are processed.
We recognize that allergens can pose serious health risks to sensitive individuals and implement preventive controls designed to eliminate the risk of allergen introduction and minimize any potential for cross-contact. These measures support our ongoing commitment to food safety, regulatory compliance, and the production of safe, high-quality beef products.
At Upper Iowa Beef, we are committed to transparency and quality in every product we offer. To maintain the integrity of our “Born, Raised, and Harvested in the USA” label, we require a signed producer affidavit confirming that all animals meet this standard.
The personnel at Upper Iowa Beef are committed to the proper care and handling of cattle, as well as to meeting the expectations of our customers. In support of this commitment, Upper Iowa Beef maintains a comprehensive Animal Welfare Program that fully complies with all applicable humane handling rules and regulations, including 9 CFR 313. All producers supplying cattle are required to undergo a pre approval process addressing nutrition, handling, and transportation practices. In addition, Quality Assurance personnel, in coordination with USDA veterinarians, oversee and monitor all aspects of live animal handling and harvest procedures. These monitoring activities include, but are not limited to, unloading, holding, stunning, and harvest practices.
